Skills management is a core attribute of any scheduling system. ScheduleSource incorporates a valuable skills ranking system into skills management to allow Schedulers to add detail about particular employee skills; for example, an employee might be highly skilled at two job types but be normally assigned to just one. With ScheduleSource it is easy to manage these preferences within the skills manager. Another scenario might be an employee who is able to work at multiple locations, but prefer to work at a location near his home; in this scenario his "skill" at the closer location would be higher and the scheduling system would assign him there first, but he would always be available to be assigned at the other site.
A sophisticated Credentials Management System is available as an additional product. For organizations with significant exposure due to employee credentials requirements, the system monitors credentials, alerts managers and employees about recertification, provides re-certification training requirements and history, and ultimately can be set to lock an employee out of the schedule for any position for which an expired credential is required.
